The Crane Princess is a retelling of a classic Japanese folktale, The Crane Wife, and is a rich tale that reveals the magic of forgiveness. I did the cover art, and book art and design. See my process.

This personal project conveys relaxation and contentment in an unconventional way. Pastel colors set a peaceful tone and a mix of dimensional figures with flat planes of color adds whimsy.

In this illustration, created with Procreate, I wanted to convey the feeling of finding and guarding something dear to your heart. I used texture, depth, and light to create a magical mood.

A personal project, made with Procreate and influenced by surrealism, that quickly reads as the emotional state of despair.
