TCI Bingo Game Art

Teachers' Curriculum Institute provides comprehensive teaching materials to schools across the United States. This project involved creating art for a Bingo game that would help kindergarteners know their classmates better. The simplified illustrated forms are approachable for young children and help them to make an emotional connection to the game and get excited about playing it. I was able to convey action through my artistic skill and used design thinking to carefully craft the content of each bingo square. Like the majority of my work for TCI, I created this artwork quickly (in 3 hours), showing my ability to create a smart design concept and execute it perfectly under tight deadlines.

Project Overview

The constraints for this project were that it had to be in black and white and it had to be completed in 4 hours. This artwork is for the square "Find someone who likes to play outside."

Process

I used Procreate on an iPad and an Apple Pencil to make these drawings. I was able to quickly imagine playful scenes to demonstrate each specified action, such as "Find someone who likes to read."

Technique

I used a thick black line with minimal width variation to give the drawings a clean and minimalistic feel.

Finished Product

This design is effective because it engages the imagination of the students and is easy to scan and understand.
